At the SPSA Annual Congress 2024 (University of St. Gallen, February 8–9), I co-presented this paper with Lars-Erik Cederman investigating the identity foundations of majority nationalist movements and how these shape their political trajectories and conflict potential. We distinguished between ethnic, cultural, and civic identity bases and showed that each generates distinct patterns of nationalist mobilization and intergroup hostility.
