My co-authored article "The Wrong Place at the Wrong Time? Territorial Autonomy and Conflict During Regime Transitions," published in Comparative Political Studies with Daniel Bochsler, was awarded the IEA Prize for Best Academic Article at a ceremony held in Barcelona on 15 January 2024, marking the 40th anniversary of the Institut d'Estudis de l'Autogovern. The prize was awarded ex aequo alongside an article by Pau Vall Prat, and I was honoured to have our research on how territorial autonomy intersects with democratisation processes recognised by an institution dedicated to the comparative study of self-government. The ceremony brought together scholars, policymakers, and Catalan government officials to celebrate research on the territorial organisation of political power.
