I am teaching this MA seminar at the University of Fribourg from September 2025. The course examines the causes and consequences of nationalism with a particular focus on Eastern Europe, situating Eastern European cases within broader comparative and theoretical frameworks. Topics range from state formation and ethnic mobilization to contemporary far-right politics and democratic backsliding.
