At the Conflict Research Society Annual Conference 2019 (Brighton, September 9–10), I presented this paper addressing the endogeneity problem in power-sharing research, distinguishing between internal determinants of institutional design and external conflict-driven pressures. I argued that failing to account for this endogeneity systematically biases estimates of power-sharing's effect on conflict outcomes.
