At the IPSA RC14 Conference (Sarajevo, June 12–15, 2019), I co-presented this paper with Daniel Bochsler examining whether and how different forms of power-sharing affect the quality of democratic governance. We focused on three dimensions — representation, accountability, and political competition — and found that the relationship between power-sharing and democratic quality varies considerably across institutional designs.
